Movement Focus: Rotational but also helpful for Fore & Aft, Lateral and Vertical

Description:  The new inside foot lifted as you initiate the turn. Balance on the outside ski it is turned underneath to create a crossed position. Continue to balance and steer the outside ski through the control phase. 

Benefits:  Develop leg steering under a stable upper body while balancing on the outside ski.  Also helps to create hip angulation(lateral balance) while balancing on the outside ski.

SnoweLab Tips:  Tap the inside pole or ski in the start of the turn to act as fulcrum and help to initiate the turn.  Stay in balance throughout the turn and aim to steer the outside ski underneath the lifted ski.  To help with balance, try to tip the lifted ski for

Variations:  You can play with the balance by pointing the tip of the lifted ski up, keeping it level or pointing it up.  You might also like to increase the complexity by adding a stork turn to start the turn and a Javelin Turn to finish, a Stavelin Turn.  To increase the intensity of the rotation, turn the Javelin turn into a Javelin Hockey Stop.
